The Justice reform, ASPS alumni exchange ideas with parliamentary commission
The alumni and participants of the “Albanian School of Political Studies” were part of the debates organised with experts and group of interest held by the special Parliamentarian Commission on Justice Reform. The meeting was held on 12 May 2015, at the premises of the Parliament, with the presence of the chairman of the Special Commission, Mr. Fatmir Xhafaj and the constitutionalist, Mr. Luan Omari
Second national course on “Leadership and public engagement”
The second national course of the Albanian School of Political Studies programme took place in Gjirokaster from 17-19 April 2015. The course was composed of two sessions, each following a specific aim and methodology.
Seminar on “Albania and the European Court of Human Rights”
The fourth seminar on the "European justice - Albania and the European Court of Human Rights" was held in Tirana on 11 April 2015. The keynote speaker was Mr. Xhezair Zaganjori, chairman of the Supreme Court of Albania
Schools directors began the organization of World Forum for Democracy 2015
The annual meeting of the directors of 21 Schools of Political Studies (SPS) of Council of Europe took place on 30-31 March 2015 in Budva. This event served to discuss trends of illiberal democracy and the erosion of human rights and freedoms
First ASPS national course on political parties and elections
The first national course of the Albanian School of Political Studies named “Political Parties and elections” took place in Pogradec from 19 - 22 February 2015. The topics covered by this course were carefully selected and put in a logic order to complement and support each other.
Alumni network contributes for the flooded areas in South
Following the initiative of some alumni, the Academy of Political Studies extended the invitation to the wider alumni network and partners in view of supporting the people in the flooded areas in South Albania. The contribution of the first day amounted on 54.000 ALL and was transformed in more than 100 bales of grass as food for livestock in these flooded areas.
Seminar on decentralization and administrative reform
“Decentralization in Albania: achievements and the way ahead” was the central topic of the first seminar with the participants of Albanian School of Political Studies, held on 7 February 2015, in Tirana. The guest speaker for this event was the adviser of minister of local issues, Mr. Enea Hoti.
The second ASPS alumni’s annual meeting
The second ASPS alumni’s annual event was organized at the premises of Hotel Tirana International, in 26 December 2014. The activity was attended by more than 80 alumni from the generations 2007 – 2013, but also by lecturers and other friends of the programme.
Energy Efficiency, APS singed the new MoU for 2015
Seven Schools of Political Studies from the South-East Europe signed on 4th of December 2014 in Sarajevo a new Memorandum of Understanding with GIZ and Baltic Environmental Forum, Germany (BEF). The network of organizations committed to the further continuation of intervention to strengthen the public dialogue on sustainable development of energy in our region.
The first training for APS alumni on negotiations
In the framework of its support to alumni network, the Academy of Political Studies, in partnership with the Albanian School of Public Administration (ASPA) organised a two-days training on the "The EU accession negotiations process", on 22-23 November 2014, in Pogradec.
