Diploma ceremony of the School of Political Studies 2019
The Diploma Ceremony of the 13-th generation of the Albanian School of Political Studies was held today at Hotel Rogner, attended by numerous personalities as Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ms. Vasilika Hysi, Swiss Ambassador in Tirana, Mr. Adrian Maître and the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Tirana Ms.Jutta Gützkow.

Alumni and participants of the Albanian School of Political Studies were part of a discussion on "Western Balkans in the European Union: Enlargement Policy at a Crossroads", near the Center for Opening and Dialogue at the Prime Minister's Office.
The president of Association of the Schools of Political Studies visits Albania
The president of the Association of the Schools of Political Studies of the Council of Europe Mr. Nils Muižnieks paid a visit in Albania from 16-18 May 2019 by the invitation of the Academy of Political Studies. Mr. Muižnieks was one of the guest speakers on the third national course of the Albanian School of Political Studies programme, held in Durres.
The third course of the School focusing on European integration
European integration process and the expected decision on the opening of negotiations was the focus of the third course of the School of Political Studies. The training took place on 17-19 May 2019 in Durres, with the presence of the best national and international lecturers. Mr. Nils Muiznieks, President of the Association of Council of Europe's School of Political Studies, held a presentation on populism in Europe as a threat to democracy and human rights.
Second national course on “Leadership and political representation”
The second national course on "Leadership and Political Representation" took place on 5-7 April 2019 in Vlora. The first module of the course was developed in the form of intensive training on character-focused leadership. The curriculum developed by the McCain Institute, at the University of Arizona in the US, was dealt with by the expert, Edlira Gjoni.
The first national course on “Political campaigns and elections"
The first national course took place in Voskopoja, Korce from 15-17 March 2019. The guest lecturers shared with the participants the best of national and international practice. Mr. Jim Arkedis, who has over 15 years of experience in American political campaigns, addressed the topics of “Political communication and campaigning”. Two other topics as "Essential of Public Speaking" and "Public Debating Techniques" were introduced to the training, offering to the participants the opportunity to get acquainted with and practice the most contemporary techniques in this field.

The Diploma Ceremony of the 12-th generation of the Albanian School of Political Studies was held today at Tirana International Hotel, attended by numerous personalities. 20 graduates successfully completed a one-year study cycle, which includes lectures, study visits, and research papers focusing on good governance and relevant reforms in the country.
Finalized the second phase of supporting policy research at the local level
The Academy of Political Studies (ASP) in cooperation with the Open Society Foundation Albania (OSFA) finalized the second phase of support for research and advocacy work aiming to improve policies at local level. The project "Research and Advocacy Ensures Better European Policies in Albania" targets the alumni of the "Albanian School of Political Studies"
The third course of the School focusing on European integration

School Directors start organizing the World Forum for Democracy 2018
The annual spring meeting of the Directors of 21 Schools of Political Studies of the Council of Europe took place on 24-25 May 2018 in Strasbourg. Topics discussed included how to better share good practices and expertise among the Schools, how to evaluate the curriculum and how to create synergies with other Council of Europe programmes.
