The School part of the World Forum for Democracy 2025

Friday, November 14, 2025

The 13th session of the World Forum for Democracy was held at the Council of Europe from 5 to 7 November 2025, bringing together over 1,200 participants from 80 countries in Strasbourg to answer the question "Democracy in danger: how can we revive it?". This edition once again brought together leaders, activists, scholars and citizens from around the world to reflect on the future of democracy and explore new ways to strengthen civic participation. The vote by participants announced the winner of the Democracy Innovation Award, an award that this year went to the innovative platform "MyPolis Citizenship Agents", from Portugal. The Forum also served as the finalization of the one-year training cycle on good governance and democracy of the participants of the Albanian School of Political Studies 2025 program. The School participants, during the three days of the Forum, visited the European Court of Human Rights, meeting the Albanian judge Mr. Darian Pavli. The Tirana and Pristina schools were together in this conversation on the role of the court and its challenges for the protection of human rights. The visit to the Albanian diplomatic mission to the Council of Europe is also an opportunity to discuss with Ambassador Mr. Dastid Koreshi and learn about Albania's role in the organization, lobbying for Kosovo's membership, and the efforts to passivize addresses by the Serbian authorities in the areas inhabited by Albanians in the Presevo Valley.
