Diploma ceremony of the second cycle of Academy of Trusted Flaggers

Over 14 Trusted Flaggers of internet were certified at the end of the second cycle of the Academy of Trusted Flaggers. The ceremony also served to award the winner of the competition for monitoring harmful materials on social networks held in the period June-September 2024. Ms. Ermela Cekani was assessed as the winner of competition with over 130 reports for materials with harmful content that promote violent extremism on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Youtube platforms, with the aim of blocking them from social network providers.

The ceremony was greeted by representatives of partner institutions in this program, Ms. Era Gjata from the National Authority for Cyber Security and Ms. Fatilda Smajlaj, from the National Center against Violent Extremism.

The participants were 14 social workers, IT experts and activists with experience in programs to counter hate speech narratives, who are intended to continue their engagement in reporting harmful material online but also transmit the knowledge to young people and other target groups of society that faces hate speech, blackmail with misuse of identity or other phenomena in social networks that bring conflicts and consequences in real life.

The program "Empowering the network of trusted Flaggers for a safe cyber ecosystem against violent extremism" is supported by the US Embassy in Tirana and implemented by the Academy of Political Studies in cooperation with the National Cyber Security Authority and the Center Against Extremism Violent.
