The Diploma Ceremony of the 12-th generation of the Albanian School of Political Studies was held today at Tirana International Hotel, attended by numerous personalities as the President of the Republic Mr. Ilir Meta, Deputy Prime Minister, Ms. Senida Mesi (alumna of ASPS) and the Swiss Ambassador in Tirana, Mr. Adrian Maitre. 20 graduates successfully completed a one-year study cycle, which includes lectures, study visits, and research papers focusing on good governance and relevant reforms in the country.
The President of the Republic, Mr. Ilir Meta, underlined in his speech that better education of young people helps in the further democratization of the country. “Enthusiasm, positive energy and creativity have an important transformational role in the development of society. All of us, as representatives of institutions and as a society, need to reflect more deeply on the capitalism of this human and youth potential for the benefit of the future of the country,” said Meta. The President expressed also support for the students’ demands which are actually protesting in different cities of Albania, appealing once again to the government to reflect on the demands of students.
The Director of the Academy of Political Studies, Mr. Erjon Tase, expressed gratitude to the partners for their support and also to the engagement of the participants: "During a year of the School's program, we have been aiming to better understand the political developments and the day-to-day reforms, to shed more light on the problems and the reasons why not everything goes well and through this deep reflection process we believe we helped to create a generation of young people more engaged in policy-making, more active to contribute to the country's proper development".
The event continued in a more familiar way during the annual meeting of the alumni network, where over 120 alumni from different generations have the possibility to meet again each other, but also share their contacts and get to know better with the new graduated.
