The Albanian School of Political Studies has launched the call for applicants for 2011-2012.
The Albanian School of Political Studies is a Council of Europe project, with co-financing from the Swiss Cooperation, aiming to help young leaders in political, administrative, legal, economic, social and cultural sectors prepare for their duties. Through dialogue and interactive learning, the School will deal the whole scope of challenges to our societies, as well as it will help to create links between new generations of leaders in their own countries as well as across borders.
Profile of participants
The profile of participants may be new and young members of parliament, officials of central and local institutions, elected individuals of city councils, communes, representatives from the judiciary, from the business, media and non-profit organizations etc.
Admission criteria
The candidates who demand to attend the Program “Albanian School of Political Studies” shall comply with the following criteria:
- Priority will be given to candidates who have a university diploma issued by a university in or out of the country.
- He/she masters the English and/or French language. The command of these languages in a good level is required, because some of the courses will be held in these languages. The command of another western foreign language constitutes an advantage.
- The candidate expresses clearly the motive of participation in the Program “Albanian School of Political Studies”, the political interests, if any, and the interests for career development.
- The age of the candidate shall be until 40.
- The candidate shall be preferably in an active public position.
- He/she shall be recommended by two individuals who know the academic, professional, research and personal skills of the candidate.
Admission documentation:
- The completed application form. (Please see below)
- Photocopy of the diploma.
- Two letters of recommendations, each sealed in an envelope and signed by the referee.
- 1 photo in passport format.
Potential candidates are kindly asked to receive the application and the letter of recommendation form at the Council of Europe Information Office in Tirana, or download them at www.shkollapolitike.org. The school has a registration fee of 150 Euro (only for the selectees).
The deadline for submitting the application is on 12 October 2011 at 17:00.
