The second course of the Albanian School of Political Studies took place in Hotel Belvedere Durres, from 10-13 March 2011. The aim of this course was to provide an introduction of theoretical and applied approach of political communication which is taking a growing role and importance in modern media societies. The programme focused on relations between political parties, state, media and public as the main actors in political communication. The course combined modern theories and processes of public and media relations with practical examples and role plays simulating real life situations. The school’s participants were trained on specific skills such as how to run a political discourse, conduct a electoral campaign, deal with media and addressing the public in a variety of situations and circumstances. Another important aspect of the course was the lecture on non-verbal communication where the participants learned and exercised very useful techniques and skills. Moreover, the course curricula engaged the students in an analytical thinking and enhanced their communication and analytical skills.
