Third generation of the school meets with President Topi

The President of the Republic, H.E Mr Bamir Topi hosted today a meeting with the participants of the third generation of the Albanian School of Political Studies.

President Topi praised the noticeable progress of ASPS and expressed his highest consideration for this enterprise which provides real added value in training a new generation of political and civil leaders. In his word, the Head of State focused  on the Albanian political experience and its path during the transition period and stressed the crucial importance of the involvement of a new generation of qualified leaders to the country’s future.

Among others, President Topi shared with the ASPS’ participants his viewpoint on the challenges which Albania faces as a NATO member and as a potential EU candidate country against the background of current political developments both inside the country and in the region.

President Topi then discussed with the participants such issues as the forthcoming elections and the related process of issuance of ID cards, the independence and the functioning of state institutions, as well as the commitments and obligations of the Albanian government in the context of  Euro-Atlantic Integration.
