The Albanian School of Political Studies, in the framework of its activities, organized on March 4 a meeting with the CoE expert of Data Protection, Mr Graham Sutton.
The Albanian Law on Data Protection has been drafted as a joint effort of the Albanian and Coe experts. Mr. Sutton has assisted the Albanian Government with his expertise for quite some time in the process of drafting the Law on Data Protection.
The participants of the School was given the opportunity to receive information on the definition of data protection in general, and also on what the law has in store for the citizens of Albania.
After a very practical presentation by the expert, the participants discussed on the information provided, the pros and cons of data protection, etc. The debate was focused on how personal data should be protected, how the law is applied similarly in other countries and throughout the European Community.
