The Albanian School of Political studies held on 29 May 2008 a seminar with the topic"Globalization and the open society for change" with Proffesor Perparim Kabo as the lecturer.  Some of the main topics were as follow :

-The right to property as a fundamental right

-Respect to the business contracts

-Freedom of press

-Anti-trust laws

-The consumers’ rights

-The rapport between change and development

-Dehumanization of the environment we live in, and its consequences to the Albanian society

-The factors which affect the well-being, the concept of globalization according to Giddens. The existential policies

-Poverty according to the UN standards.

Several questions were raised during the seminar, which turned it into a fruitful debate.  Some of the main issues raised were: 

  • Why do governments prioritize wellbeing?  What are the elements to intervene?
  • Why is there a lack of sufficient scientific education, lack of proper understanding of the spiritual elements which add to the well being?  Free urban movement and urban planning. How will the proper urban planning affects our personal well-being?
  • Lack of knowledge on the global culture, the insufficient network of banks, late investments in the country, high unemployment rates, as some of the tools which hinder development of the country.
  • The voting rights of the persons working abroad, and the electoral in the country
  • The establishment of the land market, value of land, ownership, legal tiles.
